Lady Gamer

I'm putting this in to prevent any more flame: I call myself a girl gamer because 1- A girl is a young woman, I am a young woman. Nuff said. 2- Sexist boys- oops I mean MEN call themselves GAMERS. why would I wanna be in the same group as sexists? Until you grow up, I'm calling myself a GIRL GAMER. If anyone else posts a negitive comment I will just hide it. Give up already.

Um, I think it's because we do have something to prove. I for one don't play online unless I'm playing with my friends. If you're a girl who talks during matches online games some guys make the most sexist remarks I've ever heard. They bash girls because we're not suppose to be good at games and they make those completely inappropriate 'kitchen' jokes. When you're known to be a girl playing what is typically a 'guy' game, you do have something to prove. It's really sad, but true. I've watched my best friend play games online fighting games, she's really good and she'll have the mic on her head, but she doesn't ever speak. I used to wonder why but I think it's because a lot of online players are a-holes.

Disclaimer: I'm not saying all guys are sexist jerks, but a good chunk of the online players are.

wait wait wait! now...im defending the title of a girl gamer even if im guy for a reason...now look its like comparing legend of zelda to friggin call of duty both two complete different games and it depends on what kind of a gamer you are....and plus you cant call yourself a gamer if you stick to one game..friggin people ripping on every other game because it DOESNT have the same methods as the other...but i mean girl gamers actually are good at gaming they get into like guy gamers do and most of the girl gamers are better than some guy gamers...like just take avenge 7fold compared to owl city both great bands with great music but completely different...anyway besides the point girl gamers are just as good and sometimes even better then guy gamers

I love all the people talking about gaming being genderless. Gaming was and still is a male dominated field. The creators are still mostly male and the demographic are still mostly male. That doesn't even include the barrage of disgusting misogynistic behavior spread around xbox live and mmorpg's. I can't tell you how many times i have been called a "fake" gamer, or told to get back into the kitchen. Make a sandwich. Until this kind of thinking stops then gamer girls need to come together and support each other.

Thank you for your support. You know who you 2 are and I will keep you annonymous (don't know if I'm spelling that right) I agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just don't care about opposing opinions.
